Current Problem:
Currently, when drawing lines in Confluence Whiteboards, lines can only snap to the center or the basic edges (top, bottom, left, right) of objects. This limitation makes it difficult to create complex diagrams or workflows where lines need to connect to more specific or custom points on shapes. As a result, diagrams can look cluttered or unclear, and users may struggle to represent relationships accurately.
Suggested Solution:
- Increase the number of available snapping points on objects (e.g., corners, midpoints, or user-defined points).
- Allow users to snap lines to any arbitrary location on an object, not just predefined points.
- Optionally, provide a way for users to manually add or move connection points on shapes for greater flexibility.
- Consider adding more bending points to lines for improved routing and diagram clarity.
Workaround:
Currently, users must manually adjust lines and objects to approximate the desired connections, which is time-consuming and often imprecise. There is no built-in way to add custom snapping points or connect lines to arbitrary locations on objects.
