      Problem

Uploading large video files (for example, more than 6GB with 1 hour long) to a Confluence Cloud page results in the video being unavailable for inline preview, even though the upload completes and the file can be downloaded.

      Environment

      • Confluence Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      Example:

      1. Upload an MP4 video file larger than 6GB, with more than one hour, to a Confluence Cloud page.
      2. Wait for the upload and processing to complete.
      3. Attempt to preview the video inline on the page.

      Expected Results

The video should be playable inline on the Confluence page after upload and processing.

      Actual Results

The video preview fails to load and displays "Preview Unavailable". The file can still be downloaded and played locally.

      Workaround

As a workaround, customers can upload their videos to Loom and embed the Loom video link on the Confluence page (or any other online video player)

      Notes

      • The issue appears to affect large video files (5GB+).
      • Renaming and re-uploading the file does not resolve the issue.
      • The problem is reproducible with different large MP4 and MOV files.
