Issue Summary
The current "Related Content" feature in Confluence Cloud displays suggestions based on an internal algorithm that includes content from various spaces, including Personal Spaces.
However, users find that this often results in irrelevant content being displayed, which hinders the intended purpose of aiding information discovery.
To improve the relevance and utility of this feature, the customer requests the following enhancements:
1. Scope Restriction: An option to limit the "Related Content" suggestions to display pages within the same space only.
2. Exclusion Capability: A mechanism to manually hide or exclude specific pages from appearing in the "Related Content" section (e.g., to prevent inappropriate or unrelated pages from being suggested).
Steps to Reproduce
- Navigate to Space Settings > Manage space > Related content and toggle "Show related content" to ON.
- Create or view a page within the space.
- Scroll down to the "Related Content" section at the bottom of the page.
- Observe that pages from other spaces (including Personal Spaces) are displayed as suggestions.
- Attempt to find a setting to restrict suggestions to the current space or to hide a specific irrelevant page from the list.
Expected Results
Space Administrators (or users with appropriate permissions) should have configuration options to:
- Restrict the scope of "Related Content" suggestions to the current space.
- Manually exclude specific pages from being suggested in the "Related Content" section.
Actual Results
There are no configuration options available to filter the scope or exclude specific pages. currently, the feature can only be toggled ON or OFF at the space level.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
