Issue Summary
When importing Mural boards into Confluence using the Bulk Importer Tool, the failures occur for larger or more complex boards, even when the file size is relatively small (~1–2 MB).
This is a known limitation of the Bulk Importer, but current behavior is more restrictive than expected, as failures are occurring well below the usual ~5 MB threshold.
Steps to Reproduce
- Prepare a ZIP containing one or more Mural board PDFs (including larger/complex boards).
- Import the ZIP using the Bulk Importer Tool
- Observe repeated retries followed by failure.
Expected Results
Bulk Importer should reliably import Mural boards of similar size and complexity as the manual whiteboard import flow
Actual Results
Mural boards < ~1 MB or with simple structures import successfully via Bulk Importer.
Larger or more complex boards consistently fail
Workaround
The same PDFs that fail via the Bulk Importer successfully import when using the manual flow (Create Whiteboard → Import Whiteboard)
