Problem
When applying the "Last Active: Over 6 months ago" filter in Content Manager, some pages that should qualify for this filter are not displayed in the results. However, when the filter is cleared, those same pages can be found and show a "Last active" value such as "10 mo. ago".
This makes it unreliable to identify and manage older or inactive content using the "Last Active" filters.
Environment
- Confluence Cloud
- Content Manager
- Affects multiple spaces
- Observed across multiple browsers
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Content Manager in a Confluence Cloud site.
- Ensure you are viewing content for a space or a set of spaces that includes older pages (e.g. pages last active around 10+ months ago).
- In the filters, set Last Active to "Over 6 months ago" (or a similar "Last Active" range that should include pages with "10 mo. ago").
- Review the list of returned pages.
- Clear the Last Active filter.
- Search or scroll in the same Content Manager view and locate pages that display "Last active" values like "10 mo. ago".
- Compare which pages are shown when the filter is applied vs. when it is cleared.
Expected Results
- All pages whose "Last active" value falls within the selected "Last Active" range (e.g. "Over 6 months ago") should be returned when the filter is applied.
- The "Last Active" filter and the "Last active" column should be based on a consistent underlying date/field so that filtered results match the visible "Last active" values.
Actual Results
- Some pages that show "Last active" values such as "10 mo. ago" only appear when the Last Active filter is cleared.
- When the Last Active: Over 6 months ago filter is applied, those same pages are missing from the results, even though their "Last active" values indicate they should meet the filter criteria.
Workaround
- Clear the Last Active filter and manually review or search for older pages (e.g. by title, space, or other filters).
- Optionally export or otherwise capture the full unfiltered list and process it outside of Content Manager to identify older content (Space Analytics Export)
Notes
- It is unclear whether the issue is with:
- The "Last Active" filter logic itself, or
- The underlying "last active" / activity data that drives the filter and the column.
- This may be related to how different activity dates are computed or stored, similar to:
- CONFCLOUD-83329 - Non-view events (moves, label updates, others) prevent Confluence Automation from detecting pages as inactive.
- CONFCLOUD-83308 - Content Manager: Last Active Filter Uses lastActivityDate, but Last Active Column Shows lastViewedDate.
- Please refer to the attached screenshots for concrete examples of pages that:
- Show "Last active" values such as "10 mo. ago", and
- Are excluded when the "Last Active: Over 6 months ago" filter is applied.
