      Issue Summary

Expansion macros and links do not expand or respond to clicks in view mode on Confluence Cloud legacy editor pages when Server Side Rendering (SSR) is enabled. The issue is not reproducible in the new cloud editor or on test sites. Disabling SSR resolves the problem.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open any affected Confluence page in the legacy editor
      2. Attempt to expand any macro or link in view mode.

      Expected Results

      • Macros and links should expand or respond to clicks as expected in view mode.
      • Page interactivity should match that of the new cloud editor and unaffected sites.

      Actual Results

      • Macros and links do not expand or respond to clicks in view mode.
      • Issue is resolved if the page is converted to the cloud editor or if SSR is disabled.

      Workaround

      • Temporarily disabling SSR for the affected site resolves the issue and restores expected macro/link functionality.
      • Converting legacy editor pages to the new cloud editor also resolves the issue, but the customer prefers to delay this due to business constraints.
