We propose an enhancement to the color picker on whiteboards, specifically when using dark mode.
Currently, the selection of lighter colors—such as white and other pastel shades—is limited or unavailable.
Expanding the color palette to include more light color options would greatly improve the ability to create visually clear and accessible content on whiteboards in dark mode.
This change would help users maintain contrast, highlight important information, and ensure better readability, ultimately enhancing the overall whiteboard experience for everyone.

In addition to improving color visibility in dark mode, There is a need to cover the ability to select custom colors, including brand-specific colors, on Confluence Whiteboards.

Many teams rely on Whiteboards not only for collaboration but also for presenting content to internal and external stakeholders. Limiting users to a predefined color palette, while visually consistent, creates challenges for organizations that must adhere to strict brand guidelines. Even when the available colors look visually appealing, they may not be usable if they do not align with required brand colors.

      Specifically, customers are requesting:

      • The ability to select any color (e.g., via hex/RGB values), not just predefined options
      • Support for brand color alignment when creating and presenting Whiteboards
      • Continued adherence to accessibility standards and proper contrast in both light and dark modes

Without this capability, some customers are forced to rely on external tools purely for presentation purposes, despite otherwise preferring to use Confluence Whiteboards.
