Before the time of this writing, there were email notifications for page updates that were being watched that would include a "Diff" which would highlight the differences in the page as part of the latest update to the page.

Some users have built systems and processes around these email notifications, and they no longer receive them.

I propose that we bring back the single-page update diff notifications, possibly under an option in the user specific mail settings.
