As a Confluence Cloud user or administrator, I want to be able to create blog posts as an action within Automation for Confluence, So that I can automate the publication of announcements, updates, and other important information in blog format, Without needing to use the REST API or custom web requests.
Criteria:
- A new action is available in Automation for Confluence to create a blog post, similar to the existing “Create page” action.
- The action allows specifying the space, title, body content, and labels for the blog post.
- The action does not require any manual API calls or technical workarounds.
- The feature is accessible to users with appropriate permissions to create blog posts.
Additional Context:
Currently, Automation for Confluence only supports creating standard pages, not blog posts. The only workaround is to use the “Send web request” action with the REST API, which is not ideal for many users due to complexity, security concerns, or organizational policy restrictions.
Enabling native blog post creation in automation would streamline communication workflows, reduce manual effort, and make it easier for teams to share updates and knowledge consistently.
