Publishing an update to a page does not trigger a new page view in page Analytics/insights

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

When viewing a page, an entry/update for the user having seen the page and the version of the page that they are viewing is recorded initially. If the user then edits and updates the page, they will now see the latest version and content of the page, but it does not trigger a new page view.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. View the page as some user for testing
      2. View the page analytics/insights and see that a view event is registered for the test user.
      3. Edit the page as the test user and publish
      4. Note in the analytics/insights that a new view event for the user is not tracked and that the last version seen is now older than the last version that the user is actually viewing.
      5. Edit the page as a user different from the test user
      6. in the tab/window of the page view of the test user, note that the content of the page is not automatically updated to the latest
      7. edit the page and update again as the test user
      8. Note that the latest content is now visible to the user
      9. Note in the analytics/insights that eh original view is still what is marked for the user.

      Expected Results

When the page refreshes after editing, this triggers a page view event in Analytics/insights

      Actual Results

When the page refreshes after editing, this *does not* triggers a page view event in Analytics/insights

      Workaround
