Preserve Table Column Widths When Pasting from External Sources into Confluence New Editor

      Summary of the Issue:
Currently, when users copy tables from external sources such as Excel, HTML pages, or Confluence pages using the legacy editor, and paste them into a page using the new Confluence editor, the original column widths are not preserved. Instead, the table is rendered with fixed, default widths, requiring users to manually adjust each column to match the original formatting. This process is time-consuming and reduces productivity, especially for users who frequently work with complex tables.

      Impact of the Feature:
Implementing this feature would significantly enhance the user experience by:

      • Reducing manual effort and time spent on reformatting tables.
      • Ensuring consistency and accuracy in documentation.
      • Improving the visual presentation and readability of tables.

      Suggestion for Implementation:
Enhance the paste functionality in the new Confluence editor to detect and retain the original column widths from the source table, whether copied from Excel, HTML, or the legacy editor.

I'll also attach a replication video.
