Issue Summary
When creating a subfolder, the share and restrict dialog does not inherit from the parent folder, despite the parent having specific restrictions in place.
Note: Creating a child page under a parent folder does not encounter this issue. It is requested that creating a subfolder should exhibit the same behavior as creating a child page in terms of inheriting the parent's restrictions.
Steps to Reproduce
- In a Confluence space, create a parent folder under the space home page.
- Click on "... -> Share" in the page tree, change the setting from Open to Restricted, and set the "Can edit" restriction to yourself. Save the changes.
- Create a subfolder under the parent folder.
Expected Results
Upon checking the subfolder's restrictions through "... -> Share", it should show "Restricted by a parent".
Actual Results
The subfolder is Open with no restrictions when checked through "... -> Share".
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
