Behavior with SharePoint Video Links in Confluence

      • When a SharePoint video link is pasted directly into a Confluence page, Confluence attempts to render it as a Smart Link.
      • If the link is compatible, the Smart Link will display a thumbnail preview.
      • In unsupported cases, the Smart Link will default to a clickable URL without a preview or embedded player.

      Widget Connector Support
The Widget Connector macro supports embedding content from platforms like:

      • Vimeo
      • Twitter
      • SlideRocket

Note: SharePoint-hosted videos are not supported for embedding via Widget Connector.

      Limitations
Customers cannot upload the video file directly into Confluence because of attachment size limitations, making direct embedding impractical for large media files.

      Customer Expectation
The customer expects the SharePoint video to play directly on the Confluence page when the link is pasted, similar to supported platforms like Vimeo.
