Issue Summary
When working on pages in the new editor, performance for Korean and Japanese character input is considerably slower than other languages (e.g. English). This was observed across multiple OS (Windows, MacOS), and can be reproduced in different browsers (Edge, Chrome).
While the performance was noticed to be slower when typing characters within tables, it also affects typing outside table elements. The performance was also noticeably slower when typing fast, and degrades as more content is added.
Steps to Reproduce
- Set keyboard language to Korean
- Open a Confluence page in the new editor
- Click edit
- Quickly input characters
Expected Results
Similar to inputting English characters, typed should be rendered with little to no input lag.
Actual Results
For Korean characters, input lag is considerably higher, taking up to 5-10 seconds to render at timers.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
