Issue Summary
When using the AI summary feature in Confluence to generate summaries of pages or blogs, content inside placeholder macros is included in the summary even if that content is not visible to users in view mode. This can result in sensitive or internal information, intended only for editors, being surfaced to all viewers through the AI-generated summary.
Impact of the Feature
- Security & Privacy: Prevents accidental exposure of sensitive or internal information that is not meant for public view.
- User Trust: Maintains user and admin trust in the AI summary feature by ensuring it respects the visibility settings of page elements.
- Content Integrity: Ensures that AI-generated summaries accurately reflect what end users can see, reducing confusion and risk.
Suggestion for Implementation
- Detection: Update the AI summary generation logic to detect placeholder macros and exclude their content from the summarization process.
- Visibility: Ensure that only content visible in view mode is considered for AI summaries.
