Summary: 

Publish Confluence page action in Jira automation, can not get smart.values to work in Confluence templates.

We can edit the content by going into the specific Confluence Space, selecting the template, and clicking on edit to make changes. However, it is not possible to alter the page content for the Template Space (Own template) through Automation.

We can't edit the page content from Automation, as it states that the page will contain content from the selected template (screenshot attached)

Suggestions:

It would be great to have this feature as it offer:

• the capability to insert smart.value placeholders in confluence space templates such that they can be replaced through automation
• This should support inserting Jira as well as confluence smart.value placeholders

This would really power up the automation capabilities for our customers!
