Issue Summary
Currently, the 'anonymous' icon in Confluence is displayed even for denied access attempts, which can mislead users into thinking unauthorized access has occurred. This feature request proposes changing the behavior so that the icon only appears for successful page views, enhancing clarity and reducing security concerns.
Steps to Reproduce
- Attempt to access a Confluence page anonymously.
- Observe that the 'anonymous' icon appears even if access is denied.
Expected Results
The 'Anonymous Person (Viewing)' icon doesn't appear if access is denied for the page
Actual Results
The 'Anonymous Person (Viewing)' icon appears even if access is denied.

Proposed Solution:
- Modify the system to display the 'anonymous' icon only when a page is successfully accessed by an anonymous user.
- Ensure that denied access attempts don't trigger the icon display.
This change will improve user experience by accurately representing page viewers and reducing unnecessary security
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
