Summary

Currently, the Excel macro in Confluence Cloud allows users to embed and preview Excel attachments within Confluence pages. However, users cannot edit the content of these Excel files directly from the page view. Introducing in-page editing capabilities would streamline workflows and enhance collaboration by allowing users to update Excel files directly from page view.

Suggested Implementation

• Extend the existing Excel macro to support in-place editing of embedded Excel files.

• Provide a secure, browser-based editor that allows users to make changes directly from the Confluence page view.

• Ensure that edits are saved back to the original attachment, with version history and permissions respected.
