In the past, it was possible to add custom stylesheets (CSS) to Confluence spaces/pages. That possibility led to the addition of an option "CSS class name" to the TOC macro settings, which can be used to append predefined classes (from the formerly available custom CSS) to the TOC element.
That no longer applies to Confluence Cloud — we can't customize site/space stylesheets (CONFCLOUD-36137) and the former Style macro was removed in the Legacy Editor (soon to be retired) — However, the option to add custom classes to the TOC macro is still there, causing unnecessary confusion and frustration.
Since the macro option technically "still works" (any string typed in that option is added to the CLASS param in the HTML element) despite having no practical result, this is being raised as a JAC Suggestion instead of a Bug, but it's a big grey area.
This entry asks for:
- The removal of this deprecated option from TOC macro;
- Updates to the macro's public documentation;
