As a confluence cloud user migrating from data centre, I want the ability to create and view UML diagrams directly within confluence whiteboards, so that my team can maintain the same level of architectural documentation and visual modelling that we relied on in our current set up using third-party UML macros.
Context:
A customer migrating from Confluence Data Center currently uses a third-party app that supports UML diagram macros within pages. Since Confluence Cloud whiteboards do not currently support either UML diagramming natively or third-party macro integration, this limits their ability to visualize technical architectures during planning and documentation sessions. They are open to adopting whiteboards but require the functionality to either:
- Create UML diagrams natively within whiteboards (e.g., class, sequence, use-case diagrams), or
- Embed or interact with third-party diagramming macros (e.g., draw.io, Lucidchart, PlantUML) directly within whiteboards.
