Issue Summary
After a Jira and Confluence Data Center to Cloud migration, administrators must fix Jira macros in addition to repairing product links.
It is not immediately obvious to new cloud administrators that Jira macros need to be repaired. This is often reported in support tickets as "links are broken" when Jira Macro Repair has not yet been attempted.
Current state
- The product link fixing tool is located at admin.atlassian.com.
- The product link fixing tool provides a number of advanced features (relative to Jira Macro Repair) such as providing a time stamp the tool was last run (useful for phased migrations), a current status, and reporting (history report and audit log).
- The Jira Macro Repair tool is buried in Confluence Cloud administration where new Confluence Cloud administrators may not realise they need to run the tool.
Suggestions
- Incorporate Jira Macro Repair into Update Product Links
- (if not incorporating) Move Jira Macro Repair to be adjacent to Update Product Links at admin.atlassian.com
- Provide customers with a banner/flag that Jira Macro Repair needs to be performed
- Provide auditing features to allow Cloud administrators to track the status of Jira Macro Repair (noting this may be covered in other feature requests, linked)
