Problem
In Confluence Cloud, when a page containing a table with images in its cells is viewed in the new cloud editor, merging cells in the first row causes the table to display incorrectly.
The display mode does not show all cells, incorrectly rendering the table as smaller than intended.
Environment
- Confluence Cloud
- New Cloud Editor
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a table with 4 rows and 4 columns in Confluence Cloud.
- Add images to some or all of the cells, excluding the headers.
- Merge some cells in the first row of the table.
- Publish the page and view it in display mode.
Expected Results
The table should display correctly in view mode, with all merged cells and images visible, according to the table structure (as made in Edit Mode).
Actual Results
The table displays incorrectly in view mode. It shows only a portion of the table, such as a 4x2 table, and ignores the remaining cells.
Workaround
Currently, the workaround for these pages is to split the merged cells on the top or remove the merged cells entirely from the table.
Notes
Images were added to the table to demonstrate the issue. The problem does not affect the editing mode; it only occurs in the published view mode.
