Summary:
The search functionality inside the "Search or paste a link" window when inserting a link in a Confluence's page via edit mode, has currently some limitations:
- there are no search filtering options;
- the search results are limited to displaying only 5 items at a time.
Proposed enhancements:
- Search filtering options: Introduce filtering capabilities (e.g. type, created by, last updated) to refine search results and make it easier to find the desired content.
- Expanded search results display: Increase the number of search results displayed beyond the current limit of 5 items to provide a broader view of potential matches and reduce the need for repetitive searches.
- Pagination or Infinite Scroll: Implement pagination or an infinite scroll to allow users to navigate through more results without overwhelming the interface with too many items at once.
These changes will significantly benefit users by reducing unnecessary steps and improving the efficiency of linking relevant content in Confluence pages.
Workarounds:
- Utilize the "Search by title" feature under the Content's tree on the space's sidebar, right-click on the desired page, copy the link address, and paste it into the page being edited. (Note: This is only effective if all pages are within the same space.)
- Open another browser tab and use Confluence's advanced search with the "Search titles only" filter. (This method is not ideal as it involves additional steps to retrieve and copy the page link)
