Problem
Users are unable to manage or stop email notifications when a Confluence Database (a new content type) is shared. This results in all users receiving notifications, causing inconvenience and cluttering their inboxes.
Environment
Confluence Cloud, with the recent introduction of the Database content type.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create or access a Database in Confluence Cloud.
- Share the Database with a confluence user group.
- Observe that all users receive an email notification about the sharing.
- Attempt to manage or disable these notifications through the usual notification settings
Expected Results
Users should have the ability to manage or disable email notifications for Database content in the same way they can for pages, whiteboards, and blog posts. This includes:
- Turning off notifications for new Database shares.
- Managing watch settings specifically for Databases.
Actual Results
Currently, there is no option to manage or disable email notifications specifically for Database content types. All users receive notifications whenever a Database is shared with them, without any control over this preference.
Workaround
No current workaround is available to prevent or manage email notifications for Database sharing.
Notes
- This limitation can lead to excessive and unwanted emails for users.
- Notification management exists for other content types but not for Databases.
