Summary
Currently, Confluence allows attaching PDFs to pages, but they can only be displayed inline or as cards.
In order to embed a PDF, users must use the PDF Macro.
While the PDF Macro has been a valuable solution in the past, integrating this capability into Smart Links would be a more modern and seamless approach. It would streamline the process, making it more intuitive and efficient. It would also enhance the user experience by reducing the steps needed to display PDFs within Confluence pages.
Benefits
- Simplifies the process of embedding PDFs.
- Enhances the visual presentation of content.
- Saves time for users by reducing the need to use additional macros.
Suggestion
Consider adding the functionality to embed PDFs directly using Smart Links in Confluence Cloud.
