Summary
The current iteration of the Confluence App within Microsoft Teams lacks the functionality to view pages that are whiteboards. This limitation hinders the seamless integration of visual collaboration tools, crucial for remote teams and hybrid work environments. Our team proposes the development and integration of a feature that enables users to view, interact with, and possibly edit whiteboard sessions directly within the Microsoft Teams environment when using the Confluence App.
Proposed Solution
We propose the development of a feature that allows the Confluence App users to view whiteboard pages directly within Microsoft Teams. This feature should ideally include:
- Viewing Capability: Users should be able to view the content of whiteboard pages without leaving the Microsoft Teams environment.
- Elements:* The feature should support basic interactions with the whiteboard content, such as zooming in/out and navigating different sections of the whiteboard.
- Collaboration Support: Enable real-time viewing and, if technically feasible, editing of whiteboard content by multiple team members within the Teams environment.
- Integration with Existing Workflows: The feature should integrate seamlessly with current workflows, allowing users to attach, share, and discuss whiteboard pages within Teams channels and chats as easily as they would with any other document or image.
Benefits
- Enhanced Collaboration: By enabling users to view and interact with whiteboards directly within Teams, we can significantly improve the collaborative experience, fostering more engaging and productive discussions.
- Streamlined Workflow: This feature would eliminate the need to switch between apps to view whiteboard content, providing a more integrated and efficient workflow.
- Increased Adoption: Enhancing the functionality of the Confluence App with whiteboard viewing capabilities may lead to increased adoption and satisfaction among current and prospective users, recognizing the app as a comprehensive collaboration tool.
