Problem
Characters are being duplicated on page updates when using non-English character sets (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc). The last letter entered will appear twice on published page and the issue is only observed on Windows machines within Chrome and Edge browsers.
Steps to Reproduce
- On any Windows machine change the keyboard input to Korean.
- Access Confluence from either Chrome or Edge browser.
- Create a new page, insert a table and publish the page.
- Now edit the page to type any Korean input (example: Type 'dkssud' to print "안녕")
- Click on the update button
- Observe the last character gets duplicated to "안녕녕"
Expected Results
The word on the update should remain the same "안녕"
Actual Results
The word on updating the page changes to "안녕녕"
Workaround
The customers can follow either of below two approaches below as a workaround.
- Use a non-chromium based browser (e.g Firefox)
- On Chrome/Edge browsers, after inputting the text, click the mouse elsewhere on the page before updating the page.
- Note: This workaround could also trigger another bug, CONFCLOUD-81067.
