Description
Issue Summary
Japanese IME (Romaji typing) normally enters multiple letter combination entry state to express consonant+vowel letter such as "k" + "i" = "き".
However, in the table header, the first consonant letter ( "k", in this example) is auto-committed if the cell is blank, and the cursor goes to first letter.
So the Japanese IME cannot enter the Japanese word correctly in Chrome.
Environment
Client that runs the browser is
- macOS
- Chrome (Tested with ver. 124.0.6367.119) (This works correctly on Firefox, Safari)
- Mac IME (Japanese)
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a blank page and add elements as below.
- Add a table.
- Set IME to Japanese.
- Type some letters in Japanese
ex: てすと (て: t + e , す: s + u, と: t + o) - The first "t" will be committed automatically and the cursor goes most left, so the result would be "えすとt"
Expected Results
Japanese characters can be entered correctly.
Actual Results
The initial character is committed automatically and the cursor goes most left.
Workaround
- Enter single dummy letter and then type the characters
- Use other browser which the issue does not occur (Firefox, Safari)
- Enter the character in text editor and paste it to the table header
