Severity 3 - Minor
Issue Summary
- The Jira Macro repair tool is an option that's available in the Confluence admin page for admins to fix/remap Jira issues that are not linked to a know Jira instance.
- This option should only be available for Confluence admins, but non-admins and end users receive a message when an admin run the scan.
Steps to Reproduce
- Have two users;
- Confluence admin
- Regular Confluence user (non-admin)
- With the admin account,
- Export and import a Space, from another site (Cloud or Server), with Jira Issue macros.
- Import the Space into Confluence Cloud that is not linked to the Jira from where exported site.
- Once the Space is imported, "Start" the Jira Macro repair from the page below;
- https://<SITE_NMAE>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/jim-validator/view.action
- A pop-up will appear with the message;
We've found some broken Jira issue macros on your instance. Click here to fix.
- Do not click on the above.
- As the regular user account;
- Create a new page, or edit any existing page in Confluence.
- The same pop-up that is meant for the admin will appear;
We've found some broken Jira issue macros on your instance. Click here to fix.
- If you try to click on it, another pop-up will appear, giving us the option to remap the Jira issue link.
- But this option will not work, and the request will fail as unauthorized.
Expected Results
- The pop-up to repair the macro should only appear for Confluence admins;
- And ideally, only in the "/admin" pages,
- And/or for the admin who started the scan.
Actual Results
- The pop-up to repair appears for all users, causing confusion to non-admin users.
Workaround
- Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior for non-admins.
- A workaround will be added here when available.
- For admins, they can click on the "Skip macro repair" option if they're done fixing any macros/jira applinks.
- https://<SITE_NMAE>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/jim-validator/view.action
- This will prevent the message from showing up unless the scan(Start button) is clicked again.
