    Description

      Based on the deprecation note

      https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/confluence/deprecation-notice-search-api

the new API endpoint /wiki/rest/api/search/user accepts only the following fields:

      • Full name
      • Public name
      • AccountID

      However, please consider that:

      1. Full name could be easily duplicated in a big organization ( e.g. there could be two persons called "Patrick Dupont").
      2. Public name is customized by the user, therefore Public name can't be used as a unique identifier.

I kindly ask you to implement an API that is capable of providing the AccountID based on the email.

The goal here is to find a user with a “strong” search based on a unique identity (here the email).
