Issue Summary
Viewing a PDF attachment from the Attachment preview by clicking on the Attachment macro, PDFs that contain "annotations" (as called by confluence), which are also referred to as "comments" or "textbox" objects in PDF editing software will display the text of those PDF objects twice in approximately the same location.
This is reproducible on Data Center: not known
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a PDF with a textbox/comment object in it such as this one here: ConfluenceNewPreviewAnnotationDoubleText.pdf

- attach the PDF to a page using the new editor
- Preview the attachment by clicking on the Attachment macro that references the PDF you just uploaded.
Expected Results
The PDF displays as it would appear when viewing in any typical PDF viewer
Actual Results
The Annotations layer includes textual versions of the text which duplicates the text without the colors and font and causes the text from the image and the HTML output to clash in approximately the same location.
Workaround
- Preview the attachment by browsing to the page "Attachments" for the page and clicking "view" for the desired attachment. This uses the old previewer which cannot create annotation data.
- download and view the PDF directly.
