It would be good to be able to copy or move a template from one space to another. I believe that Confluence does not currently support this functionality?

      Atlassian Update - 27 June 2019

Thanks for voting and commenting on this issue. Your input in the comments helps us understand how this affects you and what you're hoping to accomplish with Confluence. We agree, having the ability to copy templates is something that is useful.

This is something we would like to implement, but this suggestion is not on the Confluence roadmap at the moment. Please remember that jira.atlassian.com is one of many inputs for our roadmap. We will update this issue as we make further progress on it.

[CONFCLOUD-7752] Add ability to copy templates

Having to pay nearly $3000 per year for a feature that should already exist is asinine and from what I can tell so far, it doesn't even work for global templates.

Not having the ability to promote pages or space templates to global templates seems like such a strange thing to not already have baked into the software. It's time consuming and tedious for administrators to have to try and recreate a page that needs to be a template. We aren't going to give out administrative access to our quality team just to create templates in the global template area. Either allow separate access for global templates, so we can control who has access to the templates or allow some sort of copying method.

As a workaround use Source Editor

            1. create new page with a title and save it
            2. go to origin page use edit button and go to the Source Editor for Confluence
            3. copy source code bei CTRL+A
            4. paste code into new page in edit mode CTRL+V

            Regards

            Daniel

Very frustrating but I'm considering this copy and paste as a workaround - it may help someone else, so I thought I'd share it here - How to convert space template into global template?

            I can't believe this functionality isn't already implemented... +1

You guys don't understand... This is a very big project and very very hard to do. And we bumped this with just a few people... Let's wait a few more years until more people ask for it and then give them some more time to get this gigantic task done.

Very disappointment to find this issue will probably never be fixed as I guess it's not costing Atlassian any money.
I don't see why it couldn't be done.
