Retain anchor link in URL after user login for direct navigation to specific page section

      Problem

When a user who is not currently logged into Confluence attempts to access a specific anchor on a page via a URL link, the user is redirected to the top of the page after the login process.

The login process does not retain the specific anchor link information. This can be inconvenient for users, especially when dealing with large pages where the specific section is lost after login.

      Suggested Solution

Adjust the login process such that specific anchor link information in the URL is retained even after the user logs in. This would ensure that, upon successful login, users are redirected to the specific anchor on the page as originally intended.

      Why This Is Important

This feature is crucial for improving user experience, especially for those dealing with large pages.

It's important to ensure that users are taken directly to the relevant section of the page they intend to visit, rather than having to manually navigate through potentially large amounts of content.

      Workaround

Currently, the best workaround is to inform users to first log in to Confluence before clicking on the specific URL link. This way, they will be redirected directly to the specific section on the page as the system recognizes their login status.
