Anchor links can change to resumedraft.action links due to an unknown condition, supposedly due to a Page Edit.

The bug affects all Anchor links on a Page.

      Steps to Reproduce

      Unknown condition.

      Expected Results

The anchor link remains in it's expected format:

      https://<example>.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Charlie/pages/123456789/Page+Name#Anchor

      Actual Results

The anchor link gets changed to a link that directs users to Editing mode:

      https://<example>.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/resumedraft.action?draftId=123456789#PageName-Anchor

      Workaround

Revert the affected Page to a previous version where the Anchor links are still working.

            Hi everyone,

This is Michael from the Confluence team. Thank you for raising this bug and bringing it to our attention. After examining this issue, we weren’t able to reproduce the anchor links changing within our instances, but we have some good news as to a solution. We've deployed an endpoint that you can reach out to support for a patch/hotfix. This bug affecting the anchor links is only happening in the TinyMCE editor (which we are no longer fixing bugs for), and we have not anticipated any similar issues on the new Fabric editor.

Thank you again for all of your feedback around this bug! I will be marking it closed for now.

            Michael

Could you give us some idea on when this workaround will roll out to our instance? (how long is "a few days"?)

            Hi everyone,

This is Michael from the Confluence team. I have great news that we have identified a work around for this bug! We are in the process of releasing the fix through our deployment stages, and so this fix may take a few days to reach you. This will allow us to update any pages with broken links while we continue to identify the root cause. The bug has taken longer than expected for us to investigate because we have had troubles trying to reproduce the issue. Thank you for your patience!

            Best,

            Michael
