      Problem Definition

Confluence users have reported that the template suggestion sidebar, which appears when creating a new page, adds unnecessary clutter to the workspace. This is particularly a concern for users who primarily need to create simple, unformatted pages and don't utilize the available templates.

      Suggested Solution

The ability to disable the template suggestion sidebar either site-wide or on a per-user basis would greatly enhance the user experience by allowing a cleaner workspace. This feature could be implemented as a toggle switch in the settings menu, giving users control over their workspace layout.

      Workaround

Currently, the only workaround is to manually close the sidebar each time a new page is created. Unfortunately, this doesn't save the preference and the sidebar reappears each time a new page is created.
