Resolution: Won't Fix
We have a space on Confluence, which contains various templates for the Product Development Process.
To allow users to access and copy the template sets to their projects (many pages in a tree), one needs to set their permissions as follows:
(Page Add, is required to perform Page Copies)
The issue is that the Page Add permission also allows Page Edits.
To then prevent the users from editing, one has to set the individual page permissions to only allow viewing. (but still permit copying)
As edit restrictions on a page level are not inherited, you cannot simply limit the uppermost parent page, you have to set these rules on all the dozens and dozens of child pages. Each time a page is added, the same is required.
So the request is that Confluence has a distinct option for page copy. (which only allows copying and not editing)
