Tables appear to have an 1800px maximum width, regardless of how large a user's monitor is.  For example, 4k monitors with widths of 3840px are now common, and this artificial 1800px restriction limits the kind of content that can fit on a table, even on such a large monitor.  Practically speaking, using more than 10 columns is difficult in Confluence.
