Confluence Space Template - Change History

XMLWordPrintable

When I publish a space template in confluence, I would like to have confluence record the change history as compared to the last published template.

Elaboration:  Confluence provides Page History, where you can add comments describing the changes and then confluence stores a "change view" view of the page.  A similar view of published page template history would be extremely valuable BUT only store the published versions (not every saved change) with an optional comment where the author can summarize what was changed.  Since we use confluence templates to help facilitate pieces of several governance processes, this would make our lives much easier when it comes time to audit our processes.

      Desired Outcomes:

      • Snapshot of each published template stored in Page template history
      • Optional comment stored with each snapshot along with date, time, author, and page snapshot
      • Page template history shows a comparison view of page templates (like Page History does today)
      • Page Templates can be "stamped" in some way with a template version that is visible and uneditable on the pages created with the template and also shows in the Page Template History
