Summary

Users are unable to publish a Confluence page if it links to a page that contains a backspace character (0x08 or 0x0b or 0x8) in the title.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a page with the following title (copy paste it)

   Hello World
   

2. Create a new page linking to the previously created page
3. Attempt to publish the page

Expected Results

The invalid invisible characters (0x08 or 0x0b or 0x8) are removed automatically from the page title and the page is published.

Actual Results

The invalid whitespace character isn't removed and user receives an error when publishing the page:

Your work is safe, but there’s an issue
Error converting ADF to storage format

Note

Using a text editor you can enable whitespace character visibility

Workaround

• Rename the page with the invalid whitespace character
