Issue Summary
While it is possible to have a Jira project with Active Sprints and others in the Backlog, and display those Sprints in the Team Calendars, some Sprints won't be displayed in the Calendar, if it don't have at least, one Jira issue created for that Sprint specifically.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Software Project in Jira Software
- Choose a template, e.g: Scrum
- In the left column in Jira, go to Backlog;
- Create some Sprints there
- Click on Edit Sprint by clicking on the three dots button and make sure to enter a Start and End Date using the Custom Duration and ** click on Update
- In one of the Sprints, make sure to create an issue at + Create Issue and make sure to have the issue showing under the Sprint selected.
- Leave the other Sprint without any issues
- At Confluence, create a New Calendar
- Add a new Event, with the Jira Agile Sprints Event type and Project where you created the Sprints
- Confirm the Sprint showing in the Calendar
Expected Results
All Sprints should be displayed in the Team Calendars, even the ones without an issue created for the Sprint.
Actual Results
Sprints without an issue created are not displayed in the Team Calendars.
Workaround
If a Sprint has at least one issue created, they will show up in the Team Calendars.
To confirm if your sprint has issues that you have permissions to view, you can find the Sprint ID by going to the Backlog in Jira, clicking in the three dots button in the right side, Copy link.
With the Sprint ID, you can run a search Sprint = <SprintID> e.g: Sprint = 500, and see if it will return any results.
