adding many pages to Task Report macro does not allow adding all specified pages in new editor

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

When configuring the task report macro in Fabric editor, as you add pages and spaces to the list in the "spaces and pages" field to include, eventually, pages that were added will start to drop off in the UI. Even after this point, those pages which dropped off may still be stored in the page storage format, however, continuing to add more pages will eventually result in some of those pages no longer being stored in the storage format.

This effectively limits the number of pages/spaces that can be specified, but does not consistently limit which pages or spaces will and will not be added by a given attempt.

This is reproducible on Data Center: (yes) / (no)

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Step 1. Create many pages with tasks on them, and have them all be in different spaces (Not sure if this detail is required, but testing seems to show that it makes it easier to reproduce the issue).
      2. Step 2. create a page using the new (fabric) editor, and add the "task report" macro
      3. Step 3. Start adding your pages that you created with the tasks to the list of pages to include and observe the UI. As you add pages, at some point, you will start to see the number of pages listed in the UI remain static when adding a page.
      4. Step 4. Once you have gotten the UI to "drop" a page when adding more pages, save the settings and publish the page, and check the storage format of the page. Note the page IDs listed in the storage format for the macro. You may or may not notice a dropped page here.
      5. Step 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4. As you add more pages, eventually, you should notice that the number of pages that you have added in the UI and the number of pages in the actual storage format no longer match.

      Expected Results

As pages are added to the configuration, the page previously added stay added.

      Actual Results

Pages are dropped from the macro configuration either in the UI, the Storage format, or both as you add more and more pages.

      Workaround

      Only known workarounds are:

      • Use the old legacy editor for the Task report macro if available.
      • Use multiple Macros on the page
      • move all of the pages with the desired tasks into a single or small number of spaces, then use labels to ensure that only the ones that you want are pulled into the macro
