Issue Summary
Upon using the Google macros (Docs and Sheets), provided by the Google Drive app to embed Google documents with sharing URLs, the content will not load. Instead, a Restricted link message is displayed.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Google Doc or Google Sheet.
- After adding some content and a name to it, tap File > Publish to the web
- Publish the content and copy the URL from the Link part.
- Now, in Confluence, create a page and add the Docs or Sheets macros.
- Paste the copied URLs on the configuration for the macros.
- Publish the page.
Expected Results
The content should load as it is already shared.
Actual Results
A message stating that this is a Restricted link will be displayed:
Restricted link
You'll need to request access or try a different account to view this preview
This does not impact the Google Slides macro.
Workaround
- Use the browser URL instead of the sharing URL ("Publish to the web").
- Use the iFrame macro.
