Issue Summary
When using the Widget Connector macro with sharing URLs from Google ("Publish to the web"), the content will not be displayed.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Google Doc or Google Slide.
- After adding some content and a name to it, tap File > Publish to the web
- Publish the content and copy the URL from the Link part.
- Now, in Confluence, create a page and add the Widget Connector macro.
- For the URL parameters, paste the copied URL.
Expected Results
The Google Doc or Google Slide should be displayed.
Actual Results
The following message is displayed:
Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist.
Make sure that you have the correct URL and the file exists.
This does not happen with the Google Sheets URL if using the Entire Document option while sharing the file. However, if only a specific sheet is selected to be shared, the same behavior will happen:
Workaround
- After having the file shared externally, use the browser URL instead of the sharing URL.
- Use the browser URL with the Google macros (Docs, Slides) from Confluence, provided by the Google drive app.
- Use the iFrame macro. For Slides, it should work only with the browser URL.
