Description
Issue Summary
Adding the Composition Tabs macro into the page and template editor is causing a bug in the edit button. This button is not showing when the macro is added.
This behavior was tested in the template and the page editor, in both this bug occurred.
Partner comments on the bug:
We've been noticing this issue occurring randomly for a while now, probably 1-2 months.
Refreshing the page could cause the edit button to appear.
An interesting observation here is that if we create a second macro immediately afterwards, the edit button would then appear for both macros.
Steps to Reproduce
Reproducing with the Page editor:
- Install an App which has a macro that uses a Custom Editor. In this case, we're using our Tabs macro from our Composition Tabs: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/245/composition-tabs-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview.
- Create a new page, insert the Tabs macro by typing /tabs.
- The custom editor should popup. Simply click "Insert".
- Click on the created Tabs macro, observe the Edit/Pencil button.
Reproducing with the Template editor:
- Install an App which has a macro that uses a Custom Editor. In this case, we're using our Tabs macro from our Composition Tabs: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/245/composition-tabs-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview.
- Create a global template.
- Add the macro to the template.
- Save the template.
- Attempt to edit the template
Expected Results
The edit button should be showing when the macro is inserted.
Actual Results
The edit button is missing.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior, however the editor team is looking into it. A workaround will be added here when available
