Pasting in front of bold text loses the formatting of the pasted text

XMLWordPrintable

    • Severity 3 - Minor

How to reproduce: start with an item in a bulleted list that has some bold text at the beginning, and the caret at the beginning of the text. Paste some text which is colored and not bold. Expected: pasted text should be colored and not bold. Actual: pasted text is not colored and is bold.

Workaround: From the same starting condition, instead of pasting right away, type `⌘B` to turn off bold, then type a character (which will not be bold). Now paste the text, which shows up with its correct formatting. Finally, go back and remove the typed character. Somehow the typed, non-bold character is necessary for the editor to allow pasting formatted text and keeping its formatting
