Description
IP Allowlisting is a useful tool for allowing an organization to share Confluence pages such as newsletters, blogs, and documentation with users that only need read-only access so long as they are on-site, sharing a specific IP address.
Currently though it is an all or nothing proposition and the benefits of on-site sharing have to be weighed against remote contributors being able to access the site at all.
I would like to be able to protect "public" pages from unauthorized access by using IP Allowlisting for any user that does not have a Confluence license. For those that do have a license, I would like them to be able to access the site from any IP when properly authenticated.
An alternate way to solve this scenario would be to create a "read-only" user tier. This would be similar to what products like Salesforce offer. Read-only users would not be able to contribute to document creation aside from commenting, but would have access to view any pages that are configured for that group.
