      Summary

By default, when a space gets created, the user who did it will become the Creator and this information can't be changed via the UI.

      Suggestion

In cases where the creator leaves the company or deletes the Atlassian account, it could be useful to change the creator of the space to a user that is taking care of it.

This is a suggestion to allow the creator of the space to be changed in Confluence Cloud.

[CONFCLOUD-72561] Ability to change the space creator

Closing this ticket as we released the space owner feature that should resolve this case

You can now assign an owner to a space. Space owners can be one user or a user group.

While a space can have many admins, it can only have one user or group set as the owner.

Space owners or anyone in a group assigned as space owner are granted all permissions on a space.

To assign a space owner, a space admin can:

            1. Select Space settings from the left-side navigation panel.
            1. Select General --> Space details to open the Space details tab.
            1. In the Owner field, input a user's name or group's name.

The same can be done via the Spaces tab in site settings

Please implement this feature asap. When Created by user is not in Org anymore, it become more challenging.

Since the "Created by" user still appears to be used as a (the only?) recipient of space access requests it is important to be able to update this value.  Oh, and in the space access request email that is sent, the "Created by" user is referred to as the "Owned by" user.

This is no different than changing a project owner in Jira.  It baffles me why such an easy thing to do wasn't implemented years ago.

I would like to have this feature. The majority of our Confluence spaces were created by ex-employees. This creates a problem with who determines/allows access to the space for new employees.

We currently have an issue with many spaces where the creator is something like"Anonymous User" and we cannot restore the default permissions for these spaces, because it fails with an error message.
