      Summary

With the Confluence REST API, users can perform different operations such as accessing, adding, or removing restrictions with the Restrictions API. However, for this specific API, the users must have access to the pages so they can interact with its content.

Through the UI, admins can access these pages and change their restrictions with some options like the following:

      • Through the space permissions, access the Restricted pages part and remove the restrictions.
      • Use the Admin key (Confluence Premium or Enterprise only) to bypass the restrictions to access the page and change them.

      Suggestion

Since the alternatives are available for the UI only, admins do not have any options to bypass such restrictions when using the API to help with bulk operations like the removal of restrictions.

This is a suggestion to allow the restrictions to be bypassed for the API while using the Admin key feature.
