Description
Summary
In Confluence, when moving a parent page to a new space, all the child pages will be moved as well.
However, if the user does not have edit restrictions applied to it, only the parent page and pages without restrictions/that the user has 'edit' restriction will be moved.
Steps to reproduce
- In Confluence, make sure to create a page and another page within it so it will become a child page.
- Make sure that the child page has 'edit' restrictions implemented to a different user (as a space admin, the user can add restrictions and then, delete the 'edit' one on the Restricted pages part).
- Move the parent page
Observe that only the parent page has been moved and the child page will "disappear" from the sidebar because it has become an orphaned page.
Suggestion
This can give the impression that the child pages were deleted and will require manual efforts to move them as well (add the 'edit' restrictions and move each of them).
This is a suggestion to provide a warning mentioning that the child pages will not be moved and will become orphaned ones.
An alternative could be to not move the parent page as well until all of the restrictions are included in the user.
