Uploading manually converted .ico favicon results in an error

      Issue Summary

      As a Confluence administrator, you can upload an image to become the site favicon through the Site Logo and Favicon option.

      While trying to upload an image that has been manually converted from the following specific formats as the site's favicon, an error will be displayed:

      The affected image must be a .ico one or go through a modification tied to the .ico extension. Images converted from other formats won't face the issue. For example:

      • .ico to .jpg
      • .ico to .png
      • .png to .ico
      • .jpg to .ico

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Manually edit an image file's extension from .ico to another format or vice-versa (by editing its extension).
      2. Save the image locally.
      3. As an administrator of Confluence, tap the cog icon at the top right.
      4. Select Site log and favicon from the sidebar
      5. Upload the converted image.

      Expected Results

      The image should be uploaded as the new site favicon.

      Actual Results

      The following error is displayed:

      The following error(s) occurred:

      The image that you uploaded appears to be corrupt. Please try again, or try another image file.
